Christmas is now behind the corner, and at Aviotek we are starting to celebrate this special time of the year with who really matters: family, friends, and obviously our loved users and loyal customers.
This time last year we were tidying up and making some final touches on the very first version of Frankfurt International Airport, which is without any doubt our biggest pride till now.
Every scenery we’ve made so far is special to us.
Venice Marco Polo was our very first scenery, and we will never forget our first love. We learned so much from this scenery that we wanted to accept the challenge and make an incredible place such as Skiathos, with some challenging terrain and an extremely detailed hand-made orthophoto scenery (ok, maybe the boats were not that perfect but I hope you forgave us for that 😅😂).
Then our first big project came: Dubai.
It’s been the very first big challenge we had, and it has been extremely successful and appreciated by the community to these days.
We then focused more on smaller airports, like Treviso, my flight school Ozzano dell’Emilia and other side projects for big companies, as well as scenery conversion and custom terrain profiles.
All of this while I was finishing my studies at the high school and then training to become a type rated 737 airline pilot, with extreme gratitude towards all of those that made my dream come true.
At the beginning of the post I said that the community has always mattered to us.
You, as part of the community, are continuously giving us precious feedback, spend your time testing our products, provide us with extremely important pictures and references of airports and surroundings.
So now, it’s time for us to say thank you, and we want to do it in a special way.
It’s with extreme pleasure and happiness that today we, at Aviotek, would love to announce that Frankfurt International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is going to be released for FREE, forever, for everyone.
We worked around the clock to optimize the whole user experience, increase the level of details, repaint textures, remake models, fix bugs and animate objects, and we are delighted to finally show you some previews of our work.
We would like to ask you only a favor, to bear with us for another month, so that we can add all the final fancy stuff and other important things (like the jetways etc.) that are missing in the pictures.
Last thing, please feel free to inbox firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in beta-testing the scenery before its official release. (Public beta testing will start approx. on the first week of January).
A warm Merry Christmas and happy New Year from Aviotek Software Team.
