Aviotek Simulation Software is once again very happy to give to 3D artists and coders the possibility to join the Development Team. What we are looking for are both experienced and junior developers with a basic-to-good knowledge of the X-Plane environment and are familiar with the the development toolkit provided by Laminar Research. Some prerequisites should be met in order to apply for one of these three positions: Junior 3D Developer: - Good knowledge of X-Plane’s World Editor (WED) and/or Overlay Editor. - Good knowledge of Laminar Research’s custom file formats (.POL, .OBJ, .LIN…). - Basic experience with Blender 3D and/or 3DS MAX and/or MAYA 3D. - Good experience with Adobe Photoshop (CS5, CS6 and/or CC). - General knowledge of 3D environments (3D modelling, UV unwrap and mapping, texture paint…). - Advanced knowledge of Windows (7 & 10) and/or Mac OS. - B1 (or equivalent) level of English. - Experience with GIS programs is not mandatory but is very well accepted Senior 3D Developer: - Good knowledge of X-Pane World Editor (WED) and/or Overlay Editor. - Advanced experience with 3D programs (Blender 3D and/or 3DS MAX and/or MAYA 3D, C4D, GMAX) - Good knowledge of 3D animations (models rigging). - Advanced knowledge of Laminar Research’s custom file formats (.POL, .OBJ, .LIN, autogen scenery parameters, custom autogen libraries etc.), HDR lighting and PBR. - Advanced experience with Adobe Photoshop (CS5, CS6 and CC). - Deep knowledge of 3D environments (3D modelling, UV unwrap and mapping, custom shaders and nodes, advance texture painting…). - Advanced knowledge of Windows (7 & 10) and/or Mac OS and/or Linux. - B1 (or equivalent) level of English. - Experience with GIS programs is not mandatory but is very well accepted Plugin Developer: - Basic knowledge of X-Plane flight simulator. - Good knowledge of Python 3.x and/or Lua scripts (other compatible languages are more than welcomed). - Basic knowledge of 3D environments. - Ability to understand and use Laminar Research custom dataref and parameters. - Advanced knowledge of Windows (7 & 10) and/or Mac OS and/or Linux. - B1 (or equivalent) level of English. Hey captains! It’s time to discuss what to do next, together. 2018 has been one of the greatest year for the X-Plane community and looks like things can only go better. Aviotek made some very important steps forward during this year, the customer satisfaction reached one of the highest rate in the market, with a fabtastic 96% of happy customers. We cannot be happier and more proud for that. We will do our best to increase this number, and we are planning to do so with some simple but very effective changes. We are working on a better, simpler and friendlier website and blog, so it will be easier for you to get in touch with us. The Facebook page is still your favorite place to ask questions, but we would love to create a network so that everyone can access it very easily. We take our job and your experience in the simulator very seriously, for that reason we never stop thinking about new ways to make things better. We are experimenting a bunch of new things to implement in our next project. Oh yeah, haven’t we told you that we are working on something new? Well, now we did :P It’s a bit too early to say what or when, but a new project is under development. More news on that in the first months of 2019! ORBX recently released their stunning TrueEarth scenery series, and we are very happy that they did so as we were active part in this project! As long as their transition to the X-Plane world went very well, our partnership with them will go on! Now let’s move to our “older” projects. Dubai is going to feature the new SAM jetways system. It is takin a bit longer than planned but it’s definitely a feature that will be added in the next update. We are also working for an option to let you decide if you want to keep our landmarks or Dubai default scenery, which has been updated in X-Plane v11.30. We are also planning a major update for Venice Marco Polo airport as there has been a lot of changes in the last period in the real airport. It’s not a priority, but it’s something we are willing to do!
